Root of David

Thanks and praise to Jesus Christ that in his mercy we can come before the throne of God to be healed and delivered from all roots of evil through the work of his spirit that has been granted to us after his resurrection that we may also be imparted to this holy tree of God and receive from the root of David, where Jesus Christ comes from..

As I was in worship and listened to the song that sings, “There is one found worthy; it’s the root of David." It felt like I was suddenly caught up in a conversation with the Holy Spirit, in which he said, There is reason that it’s written: He is the root of David. It took my attention about David again to search and look for the word of God that talks about the coming of the one who has been promised, and he is from the root of David. Praise God! It reminded me of the word Moses spoke to the Israelites: that after him, God would send a man that would be greater than him, and people need to listen to him. What a bizarre experience most prophets in the Old Testament had to see or experience about someone who will come, and it will actually be for many generations later that will experience the full promise of God, but not only for Israel, now for all the people of the earth.

“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear.

Deuteronomy 18:15

To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.

1 Peter 1:12

Sometimes we read the Bible with an external perspective and forget about what it means to become internal, and the written word of God, which is his spoken word, comes into our heart, soul, and mind to receive the one who is the root of David. And to be nourished by him who is the watcher of our soul; he does not sleep or slumber, and nothing is hidden before his eyes.

There is a reason that God says the Messiah, savior of the world, and spoken word of God that has become flesh among us, comes from the root of David.

But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

Revelation 5:5

The key to a godly and holy life and to gaining victory in every area of our lives comes from the root of David and the one who holds the keys. All power and authority come from him who is worthy to open the scroll, and interestingly, no one in heaven or earth, both in ancient days and in the future that will come, and no creature or angels will be able to open the scroll of God and unlock any doors, for all power, authority, and dominion have been given to Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.

We need to go back to look at all areas of our life, heart, or ministry that are contraindicated with a heart or root of David. David, with all his imperfections, was called a man after God’s own heart, and as we look at his life journey, we can see how he grew up, being a son to an unknown family and shepherding his father’s flock to become a king and priest before God, and none of his imperfections and trials made him disqualified before the eyes of God. Because of his repentant heart, his ultimate goal in life was to behold him and dwell in his house. So no matter what word has been prophesied over his life and what was his purpose, his eyes were on God.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,

And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Do not cast me away from Your presence,

And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

Psalm 51:10-11

So I pray for myself as I invite you also to the same prayer, asking that God examine and see if there is anything that I need to bring unto the altar of God and desperately confess this very thing: that his presence is our breath, and actually it’s impossible to live without him.

Blessings
